Warehouse Frustration

I started the Celestia pre-quests yesterday and made it to the Warehouse. Man is that tough.

Here's how it all went down with a Life, Fire, Storm, Balance (that's me,) and Death.

First Try:
Made it to the top, no problem. Got both rats down. Our Storm loses connection. We're destroyed by Estrakir's beefed up Fire Nova.

Second Try:
Our healer has to leave. Called on Angel Dragongem. He doesn't have the quest so he goes on his death alt, Talon Spiritthief. We make it to the top at full health. Get both rats. Get Knuckles. Our attacker, Jacob (Storm) is killed by Estrakir's Scarecrow. He heals and re-enters. Estrakir only has a thousand or so left. Long story short, scarecrow every other turn stinks, and our last wizard (Fire) didn't hold out until we got back up to the top.

Third Try:
The dungeon hasn't reset so we can start at the top every time now. Yay. (Or not!) We get the Rat Illusionists and Knuckles McCloud down very quickly. We get Estrakir down to maybe 500 health. I'm so pumped, ready to finally scream uncensored words at Estrakir in our victory, when out of nowhere. Estrakir casts a Fire Dragon, killing us all. I then start crying.

Fourth Try:
We're all pretty annoyed by now. But, we think we can handle it without a Theurgist (Life student.) We were oh so wrong. Pretty much the same thing happens as last time. We get so close, and someone dies before we can make it back up to the top again. Turns out it was me. Our Fire was the only one up there, while we were healing, getting ready to say goodbye to that Shadow Weaver for good. I ran as fast as I could to the last floor. When I got there, all the enemies were standing around (laughing at our defeat) and Wolf (our Fire) was gone.

Fifth Try:
I'm just rocking back and forth in a ball, saying to myself "Power Nova,...Scarecrow,...Fire Dragon,...it's just not fair,...just not fair." as I'm just sobbing, tears streaming down my face. Wolf was just standing in Reagents Square (the Marleybone Commons) not saying anything. We figured he got disconnected, or something. Jacob, Talon, and I were on the top floor, and we painfully entered the next battle. Talon persuaded me to buy a Life Henchman, so we had a healer of some sort, (other than Wolf and Talon's occasional satyrs. After which Knuckles would Rebirth.) Jacob didn't think that was such a good idea, because we would have a harder time with someone we couldn't communicate with. (I don't know how Menu Chatters would be able to do this... x shudder x) Once we got one rat down, and we were down to 3-400 health each, (except Stefan Greenspirit of course, cause no one cares about the npc,) I just said, well, use your imaginations, and hit Flee, and then inevitably Quit.

My mom says I'm not allowed to go on Wizard101 today because it upset me far too much yesterday.

I just wanted to say how completely unfair I think this place is, and I want to hear what you guys think of it.

Happy Gaming (Unless you're in the Warehouse.)

Celestia Reveal *Spoiler Alert*

Note: Remember guys, you can now click on pictures to make them bigger. To go back to the post, just click the back button.

I apologize for the long wait for me to get this post out. But I think the images you're about to see will make up for it like a Power Pip or two. Let's begin.

Recently Leesha Darkheart (over at Ravenwood Radio) went on a trip to Austin, Texas.

"Hey, Blaze, isn't that where KingsIsle studios is located."

Yes, inquiring reader, it IS.

Leesha made a stop over there and was able to get some information on Celestia, and of course, some concept art for all of us back home.

Let me start off with a brief synopsis of the history of Celestia.

Long ago, the Astral Wizards of Celestia created powerful magic using the energy of the Stars, the Moon, and the Sun. The sorceress, Morganthe, the Queen of the Shadow Web, wanted the secrets of the Celestian magic at... all costs. The Celestians refused her, so she raised a dark army and sent it against Celestia. After decades of battle, the Astral Wizards realized their world would fall. They summoned the Storm Titan to defeat Morganthe’s legions and to take their world to a place of safety.

The Storm Titan betrayed the Celestians by sinking their world beneath the waves along with Morganthe’s invading forces. Realizing they were doomed, the Celestians raised mighty domes to protect some of their treasured city from the waves, though it was too late! They perished along with Morganthe's invading army. Celestia was lost to the Spiral, its Spiral Door closed forever.

Centuries later, a team of brave explorers from the Spiral Geographic Society, led by Sir Thurston Plunkett, re-discovered Celestia. They landed with an air-ship, and built exploratory undersea domes to explore Celestia’s ruins. Plunkett and his fellow explorers soon realized that Celestia was now inhabited by a strange new culture... the Crustacean Empire. Unfortunately, the explorers did not come alone to Celestia. Morganthe’s followers, the Shadow Weavers, stand ready to take Celestia’s magic for their Queen.

After receiving the Spiral Geographic Society’s distress call, Headmaster Merle Ambrose, of the Ravenwood School for Magic, seeks any young Wizards brave enough to journey to the undersea world of Celestia, and discover the secrets of it's lost magic.

What will they find there?

Cool huh? Well, let's take a look at what the teachers of the Astral schools might look like.

Now, I'm not sure if these are going to be the teachers, but they look pretty wise. (Although not smarter than Alhazred, right sorcerers?) I was curious why there didn't seem to be a picture of a Star school teacher. Which also makes me think that these might not be teachers. When I got these pictures from Leesha, they were saved as Sun Boss and Moon Boss. So I'm not sure. You can theorycraft on your own time. Let's get back to the spoilers.

I also got a picture of what the Crustaceans will look like. (Granted we knew from the wallpaper reveals.)

Pretty cool! You can definitely see the Roman-esque look to him. I also got a picture of one of the bosses. I don't know the name, but he is an Angler Fish. (I'm sure once these pictures get around to Autumn, she'll give you some cool info on those.)

He has symbols of all three astral schools, which brings me to a good point. What schools will the bosses / enemies be?  I mean, we can't be getting attacks from the astral schools. Like Friendly, I think it will be a new type of spell if not some type of charm kind of thing. Hmm. Well, that's theory crafting for another day / post. Next picture.

I know, you're all asking yourselves, what the heckhound? Am I right? I'm right. The name of this picture was Platypus Leader. And he looks like a chief of some sort of tribe. That leads me to believe that there won't just be Crustaceans. He seems very friendly, so I'm assuming the platypuses, platypi, platypeople, will be allies of the Crustacean Empire. (Sort of like the goats and the cows in Mooshu.) Either way, he's a platypus, and that's cool enough for me. Moving on.

My second favorite picture from Leesha is this next one. Looks to me like the Unicorn isn't going to be our only new mount this summer.

Yeah, it'll kinda weird me out having squids running around Krokotopia too. Which is why I think this will be a Celestia Only mount. I don't know if that's possible, but it can't be good for squids to be out of water for long. Then again these are magical squids, so who knows.

The next two pictures are of Shadow Weavers. Yeah it's the full versions of the pictures from Becketts.

Regular Shadow Weaver henchman-bug-thing.

And there's your head Shadow Weaver, second in command.

Of course, we can't forget about the all important architecture. ("Right, Blaze, definitely...") Here's one of the areas in Celestia.

Now, for the final picture from Leesha, everyone's favorite drumming troll is going to start us off. Take it away, bud!

x drumroll x

Here it is.

Yup, that's our new villainess, Morganthe, Queen of the Shadow Web. You can see her creepy little Shadow Weaver babies behind her. She's got her big, bad, Staff of No Return. Loving it. I really like the purple magic power in her hand. That really adds to the spookiness of her. Same with the big web and spider legs on the back of her dress. Wait, maybe she's part spider. Even better! I can see it now, Morganthe BATTLE FORM! I'm liking it. She gets down on spider legs and x shudder x death everywhere. If you were wondering what to get Leesha for her birthday, it's definitely that dress. (It is Death Overlord-esque!) She just loves it. And frankly I think every little necromancess will too!

I hope you all enjoyed this little spoiler, and will post your comments with your thoughts on all these pieces of awesomesauce.

Btw, if you caught my Phineas and Ferb referance earlier, you get +15 Brownie Points. ;D

Also, I got these out before Friendly. I feel special.

TEST REALM FOR PRE-QUESTS OPEN!

This just in folks. The test realm for the Celestia pre-quests is now officially open. I recieved a text from Victoria Spiritblossom just moments ago while sitting in Grizzleheim. It's a shame I'm not a grand yet and am a crowns player not subbed so I can't go in. If I bough crowns recently I could come join in the fun. (But KI is mean like that [I think it should be players that have been on W101 for a certain amount of time because every player has something to contribute and can help out sgnificantly.])

Have fun guys!

Celestia Prequests Part 2: Theorycrafting

"Hold on a second, Blaze! You mean to tell us there's even more involved in that questline?"

No, don't worry. What's a good spoiler without some theorycrafting from your favorite blogger right? Of course, Friendly hasn't done much of it yet, so second favorite will have to do. Ok fine, third.

I just want to talk about where I believe we will have to go to fight Shadow Weavers to retrieve parts of the decoder. Now, I know that almost all of you have seen an area in the game and asked yourselves (or Friendly as the case may be) "Hey, self / Friendly, what is the point of that place?" Well, that's mainly what I'm here to talk about.

For Wizard City, I believe that the Shadow Weaver will be located behind the Death gates in the Haunted Cave.

I know what you're thinking. "Blaze, that's obviously for a Death Wizard spell quest." WRONG! It's not. Friendly did a post about it somewhere, but I don't really wanna go looking for it. (Feel free to if you want.) If you just don't want to agree here then it's probably in the mysterious empty house in Olde Town

You know, it's probably not because I've been told that if you go up on the ledge near the attic window, you can see Malistaire inside.

For the Krokotopia Shadow Weaver, I have found a few places that it could be. For example, behind the wall of bricks in the Pyramid of The Sun. (Yes, fellow sorcerers, that is Priya, the dryad, helping train a theurgist. I know, Priya loves us more. ;D)

Or maybe through one of the tunnels we haven't been able to explore.

If we can find a way down to it of course.

Or maybe it's in the Temple of Storms, behind those bricks.

Or through that tunnel.

And has anyone noticed that island up there?

Maybe it's up there, watching from above. (Creepy, I know.)

And if it's not up there, maybe it'll be behind that door on the side of the Oasis Library.

Yeah Zan'ne is definitely hiding it from us. Never trust an orange mander, I guess.
Or maybe through the tunnel on the back of the minigame pyramid.

For Marleybone, I believe it will be inside Barkingham Palace.

"Hey Blaze, isn't there some sort of Marleybone side quest from one of those guards that has you go in the palace?" WRONG! (again.) There isn't. "Then why would they make it." -.- For the Shadow Weaver. "Oh..."

For the Mooshu Shadow Weaver, I'm not sure at all. I honestly have NO idea whatsoever. If you guys have any idea of where it might appear. Let me know down in the comments.

For the Dragonspyre Shadow Weaver, I am almost positive it will be behind the door behind the knowledge crystal in the Plaza of Conquests.

Ok, I hope that gave you a good idea of where you'll have to be going on your next journey throughout the Spiral. (Like the obsidian chests... x shudder x)

Btw, if you started up W101 to try and find Malistaire, you get +30 Brownie Points! You probably won't find him though. He's really busy battling those bored grandmasters. ;D

Happy Gaming
Note: The pictures of Malistaire in Olde Town, The Krokotopia Library, and the Krokotopia Minigame Pyramid ARE edited by yours truly. I apologize for any confusion. I guess I really AM a great edit-er. Sorry for the disappointment. I just really love editing W101 pictures. ;D

Celestia Prequests

Ok guys. I know I'm a little late with this compared to the other bloggers, (but that's why you love me right?) Anyway, let me just get to the insider info right? Well, here's KI's little synopsis of what the prequest line will be like:

"After attaining the rank of Grand Master and defeating Malistaire, you are summoned to Ravenwood by Halston Balestrom, who explains that he has received a cryptic message on a strange device, the Resonating Omni-Audio-Graph.

Balestrom asks for help decoding the message and sends you to Krokotopia to find an ancient artifact that will help in the translation. Upon arrival, you discover that the item you need has been stolen, broken apart and scattered throughout the Spiral by a group of mysterious villains.

It's up to you to travel across the Spiral and defeat a cadre of villains to get the pieces Balestrom requires. Gradually, you learn more about these mysterious enemies, discovering that they are the Shadow Weavers, a secret order of Wizards with sinister plans.

Upon successfully decoding Balestrom's mysterious message, you learn that it originates from a long-lost Marleybonian survey team from the Spiral Geographic Society, a league of explorers who set out long ago to find the lost world of Celestia. According to the message, the explorers believe they have stumbled upon an important discovery, but they are trapped and in great danger!

With this new information, Balestrom concludes that the Shadow Weavers are after the ancient Spiral Key to Celestia, held in the Spiral Geographic Society archives. He asks you to travel to the Society headquarters and retrieve the Spiral Key. However, upon arrival in Marleybone, you discover that this simple errand will become a daunting trial, requiring you to overcome a squadron of Shadow Weavers and other powerful forces eager to keep Celestia lost and its secrets unknown.

After defeating the final enemy, you find a blackened, broken Spiral Key... now you must discover whether it is shattered forever, or if it can be remade to function again!"

That's quoted from Willowdreamer over at the Central. She was kind enough to type up the article from Becketts magazine. And of course KI wouldn't leave us hanging without a few insider pictures right?

Check them out!

I believe they are the Shadow Weavers. (Unless the Celestians are evil bugs. O. o) I'm not sure which one will be the Head Weaver, as they are both pretty menacing looking. Wish us luck, young wizards!
As more information comes out (from the test realm I assume, unless Friendly can get some more info from Greyrose.) I will be sure to keep you updated.
