Y U NO POST?!?! and A Possible Blog Revamp

I honestly have no idea guys. I just don't even think to post on here anymore. That really bothers me because I was doing so well on here. I've just been so disconnected from Wizard101 lately. I just found out about Zafaria. I haven't even beat Celestia yet. Has it been THAT long?

If you guys wanna stay updated with everything that I do, make sure to follow me on Twitter. If you don't have an account, making on is super easy and fast. I make sure to keep my Twitter updated with new video uploads and info on what I'll be filming or doing. I'd be happy to take questions from there as well to my e-mail (blazesilverfist@gmail.com or 1mudkip88@gmail.com [Yes I made a second. Just to keep everything general. They both can access the other's e-mail so  don't worry which you send to.]) Also I've made a new facebook page for myself that just covers my general account, 1Mudkip88. (here)

I guess I don't even realize how easy it is to make these posts. Look I already have two paragraphs. I mean, it'd probably be easier for me to just make blogs, cause I'm totally a better speaker and it's easier for me to just talk rather than trying to type my thoughts up here. Would you guys like that? If I just recorded vlogs? I could post them here and on YouTube/Twitter as well obviously. Let me know what you think about that.

Also I'd like to know if you guys would mind if I revamped this blog and changed it up a bit. Maybe change the color scheme and everything and make it more general to gaming. I mean, I love Wizard101 and all, and I've spent a ton of money on crowns to get everything up to Celestia, but let's face it, I can't play it forever. I'm going to be 16 this month, and it's just not really something I'm that interested in anymore. I promise I'll play it as much as I can though. Just don't expect a ton of Wizard101 stuff all the time.

If you guys won't be interested in my blog anymore if I expand from just Wizard101 stuff, I get that, and you can unfollow me, but I know you guys will all like my new stuff over on YouTube and what can be posted on here if you guys don't mind. I hope this post isn't too disappointing to those hardcore Wizard101 players out there that read this, but I just wanna play other games and it'd just be easier for me to post and get more things out there for this blog and make a name for myself on YouTube and such.

I hope you guys can all understand this and will continue to support me in everything that I do, whether it be Wizard101 or anything else. Thank you.

Not Dead, Just Sleeping. WinterTusk News

That's right everyone. Blaze is back. No need to worry anymore. New followers, and old, I am here to stay.

Let's get started.

When I 'left' I promised you guys something that some people were upset about (which I'm sure you all know and they're fine with by now.)

It was the new Orthrus spell animation.

Here's the old: (It says new in the beginning because this is from when it first came out.)

And here's the updated version.:

Personally I like the old version, just cause I'm opposed to change. Haha.

Anyway, updates for the Spiral.

There's going to be a new world coming VERY soon. So soon that it's already on the Test Realm.

It's called WinterTusk and it continues the story of Grizzleheim and introduces Grandmother Raven, Bartleby's sister, co-creator of the Sprial, if you remember from the Wizard City story line.

Yep, that's her. Can't wait to delve into the new storyline. There's also a few new things coming to Wizard101, which you can read about in the update notes. Here.

Here are the two pictures given, of areas in WinterTusk.

KingsIsle has a special surprise for us about WinterTusk. The music there has been composed by "one of the hottest your musical artists in the entertainment industry." They will be giving us hints throughout the next few weeks as to who it will be. I was hoping it would be J-Biebs. But of course the first hint is:
"I’ve performed on Saturday Night Live and my initials are not J.B.!"

Rough, haha.

Let me know who you think it might be in the comments, and I'll have a new post out soon.

Test Realm: Celestia Housing and Malistaire an ally?

Hey everyone! The test realm is open and here are the new updates that are coming!

Celestian Housing:

Direct from Celestia - Two new Castles!
We know you've been wondering when these Castles & Lands would arrive and the industrious residents of Celestia are ready to open up shop. Here's a peek at the two new houses.

The Island Getaway

This item can be purchased for Crowns or Gold in the Crown Shop.

The Celestial Observatory
This item will challenge our players, as it will need to be crafted. See the housing turtle in Celestia for the recipe.

Those are both really cool looking! I like the Island Getaway, but the outside walk-able area (first picture) looks too small for my decorating space needs. :)

The Celestial Observatory is AMAZING! I love how it has the three different sections and the teleporters (second picture) are really cool! It even has a dueling circle! I love it! Great new incentive for crafters!

Next part:

How does your Garden Grow?
Since we've released Gardening to the Spiral, you've given us some feedback that let us see how players are Gardening, what's missing, what's confusing and what needs to be made more fun. Here are some updates to Gardening that will address some of these issues
  1. There is a new tab in your Gardening window for pots and items.
  2. The base of plants will now glow when they are ready to be harvested.
  3. New Dorm rooms will start with two pots of soil.
  4. To avoid confusion, the wording "Time to harvest" has been changed to "Time until Harvest" to better reflect the time is indicating how long before you can harvest that plant.
  5. Gardening Treasure Cards can now be trashed by right-clicking them in your deck.
  6. Also to avoid confusion, the icon indicating your plant needs magic now has a white pip to represent magic, and no longer a yellow pip which was easily confused with the 'needs sun' icon.
  7. All plants now like pixies.
  8. Stinkweed will now grow faster!
  9. Once a plant is in a pot, you cannot pick them up!
  10. You can now harvest plants while you are in the Gardening window.
  11. Gnomes will no longer trip you up as you run around your Garden.
  12. Treasure Cards that affect all plants now clarify that they only affect plants in the current zone of your house (indoors/outdoors)
  13. Pots and plants now count towards your housing item count. There is no longer a 'gardening' item count. Each pot, plot and plant individually counts as an item in your house.
  14. Enchanted soil spells now cost the correct amount of energy shown on the spell.
  15. For those of you who navigate the Spiral using your mouse to move, you will no longer cast a gardening spell when you release the mouse button used to walk.
  16. The Imperial Palace contained an area that you could plant on, but not reach to harvest. You can now click on plants in those areas to harvest them.
Ok, so since I haven't started gardening yet, due to my opinions on it, I can't really comment on this, but I don't like the idea of plants counting as housing items. I find that stupid. Anyway, next update.

Life is change. Here are some minor changes in the worlds and creatures of the Spiral.
    Wizard City
  1. So as not to confuse our new players, Pet Snacks and Reagents will be removed from the creatures in Unicorn Way.
  2. Boris Tallstaff has taken up a new location in the library.
  3. Players will be given the quest "Grim Tales" at a higher level.
  4. More chests have been added to Unicorn Way
  5. Players will be able to get the quest "Pesky Pirates" after they have completed "Stop the Maker".
  6. Grizzleheim
  7. Orn in Grizzleheim has a new quest!
  8. Krokotopia
  9. The clue to direct you to Oka's chest is a little clearer to decipher.
  10. Mooshu
  11. Ahn Fu has decided to take a new ancestral name and is now known as Ahn Nao.
  12. The Emperor is no longer missing from his bed when the player is on the quest "An Imperial Cure".
  13. Dragonspyre
  14. Dungeon time indicators have been adjusted to more accurately represent the approximate time it will take a player to complete the area.
  15. Celestia
  16. Selwyn Skywatcher and Unimatus have learned the error of their ways and will no longer cheat.
  17. Celestia creatures that were appearing to resurrect after defeat should now stay defeated.
  18. Speak up! Celestia characters that had no voice will once again speak their mind! You will download individual files for those that were missing their voice chat.
Other than a new quest in Grizzleheim, and Selwyn Skywatcher and Unimatus no long cheating, nothing too exciting there.

Here's some membership updates.

Current active subscribers who have paid with a credit card are now part of our Wizard101 Membership Program! As part of our Wizard101 Membership Program, players who have made a subscription purchase with a valid credit card in the last 30 days, or have an active recurring subscription will have these added features:
  1. Energy will refill twice as fast.
  2. Your backpack will grow to 120 slots.
  3. Your Crafting Timers will now reset twice as fast.
  4. Your friends list will expand to 120 people.
This does not apply to players who use their credit card to purchase Crowns.
This does not apply to players who use Gift Certificates or Gift Cards to make their purchases in Wizard101.
You will have these benefits as long as you have an active renewing membership. These benefits expire when your membership expires.

Please note, when your membership expires (you are no longer an active subscriber) your backpack will return to 100 slots and you will not be able to put more items in your backpack until you empty out the overflow. Your friends list will also return to 100 maximum, and you will not be able to add new friends until you remove the overflow.

So that's pretty cool for subscribers. I don't need to mention my views on the discrimination of crowns players

Here's some shopping updates.

    Crown Shop
  1. Some Gold prices have changed.
  2. The 'Sale' Tab has been renamed to the Featured Tab and will now Feature items that are both on sale, and not on sale.
  3. Henchmen will now sort by level not school. You can easily reorder the Henchmen in List View.

  • The following items will be removed from the Crown Shop, and from Zeke where applicable:
    1. White Mare Mount (permanent, 7 day and 1 day rentals)
    2. Purple Glider Mount (permanent, 7 day and 1 day rentals)
    3. Faithful Dragoness (permanent and 7 day rental)
    4. Celestian Sword
There's always the chance these items will return in the future, but for now, they will be removed from the Crown Shop & Zeke.

  •  So nothing terribly exciting there either.

Here's the next (and possibly coolest) part of this coming update.

      Crafting
    1. Golden Pearls and Pearls will be slightly easier to find.
    2. Arcane Ampule recipe now calls for Mutate Minotaur Treasure Cards, not Elucidite Treasure Cards
    3. Celestian Stilletto recipe now calls for Giant Treasure Cards, not Simplify Treasure Cards
    4. Pets
    5. Ice Hounds will now cast their own spells, and won't make the player cast for them!
    6. The Polar Cat now gives 1 Dragonblade Card as intended.
    7. Jade Oni and Earthwalker pets will now have the chance of manifesting spells that match their school.
    8. Mounts
    9. The Charity Meowmodon has had its speed increased to 40% to match the other permanent mounts.
    10. Housing
    11. The Housing menu will now indicate how many free Housing slots you have.
    12. Owners of the Castles & Lands that contain a PvP circle can now boot any players engaged in a duel in their house.
    13. Players can no longer sell a house that still contains pets.
    14. Grizzleheim wallpaper & tile are available at the Grizzleheim furniture store!
    15. Spells
    16. A new Treasure Card Pack has arrived in the Crowns Shop: The Hand of Doom Pack! Summon world bosses to fight at your side!
    17. Efreet's Weakness effect can now be removed by Cleanse Charm
    18. Level 60 Ice Henchman has an improved deck and will taunt less frequently.
    19. Energy
    20. So as not to confuse our new Wizards, the Energy globe will not appear until a player has a pet or completes the Gardening introduction quest.
So, easier crafting, better pets, increased Meowmodon speed (should have been +40% from the start,) more control of who's in our house, safer pets, new Grizzleheim housing supplies, and what's this? Yeah, 'The Hand of Doom' is going to be beast as heckhound! I can't wait to pull out a Meowiarty card and fight with that cool cat! And it's not little bosses like Lady Blackhope, (although she IS pretty powerful [Ambrose to Zeke's fan-fic]) it's going to be JUST world bosses! (Lord Nighshade, Krokopatra, Meowiarty, Jade Oni, Malistaire, and Mithraya [possibly Astraeus and Ptolemos too!]) It'll be SO cool!

So, hop onto that test realm and let me know how that is!

    The Spiral Is Blossoming

Friendly is proven correct once again. We are coming out with a new expansion VERY soon. GARDENING! We will now be able to have items that allow us to harvest reagents, treasure cards, pet snacks, and other helpful items directly from our home! (It will cost energy to cast gardening spells. This is drawn from our pet energy globe.) Sounds really fun! (There is no official press announcement on this feature just yet, so when W101 tells us about it expect something from me.)

Here's a picture from Paige Moonshade:

And a good post from Tipa.
Another addition to the update will be Celestian Furniture, such as this Brain Coral from Selenor,

Yeah, when I herd that I thought of that Spongebob episode too.

    http://www.spike.com/video/spongebob/2773872 (I couldn't find a clip of it. Skip to around 9:25.)

and there's this Solar Icon (which I absolutely love!) from Mirthraya.

There are also going to be furniture salesman in the Base Camp.

I'll keep you guys updated on these 2 great new additions to the Spiral. They are both available in the Test Realm currently. (Even though it says it's closed.)

    Enjoy.

    Celestia Goes To Test Realm

Alright, so as most of you probably know by now, Celestia is finally on the Test Realm.

I'm pretty speechless right now, so let me just show you a few videos of the new content. sdf

A tour of the Commons area.

A tour of the Survey Camp

    A tour of The Grotto

All videos are from John Legendsword (heroboy102 on YouTube.)

Those are pretty awesomesauce, am I right. or am I right?

Here's the update news from the Wizard101 website:

    Journey to Celestia!
Merle has determined that Celestia is safe for his strongest Wizard students!

New quests, new badges, new reagents, new creatures, new friends and new foes, new mounts, new pets, new spells and many new adventures await!

Players who have reached level 48 and completed the Dragonspyre quest "The Final Countdown" should speak to Merle Ambrose for more information about Celestia.

Wizard101 has added 10 more levels! Level 50 players will see the return of their experience bar. Level 50 players can once again earn new experience from quests and duels.

With this level cap increase, come new Rank 8 Spells! These spells are available at level 58, but only through a quest from your Professor, so watch for those ToolTip messages! The rest of the new spells you'll have to discover on your adventures!

You will not receive experience from prior quests and duels that you completed when you were level 50.

    New Schools of Magic

    Sun Magic (Enchantments)

The focus of the Sun School is primarily on enchantments. Enchantments from the Sun School operate in the same manner as all other enchantments in the game. At the basic level they just give boosts to accuracy and damage but at higher levels they will include mutates and larger bonuses. One of the differences between Sun School enchantments and other in-game enchantments is that cards enchanted with Sun School cards disappear after combat is resolved. Sun School cards cannot be used on Rank 0 spells or Rank X spells.

    Mutate Spells
Mutation spells are a big part of Sun Magic, such as this Mutate Kraken into Inferno Kraken!

    Cloak Spell
Cloak has returned in a big way! Some of you may recall finding a Cloak Treasure card in the past, and we've brought this dynamic back to the game, with enhancements!
A Cloak enchantment card may be used on spell cards that are flagged as charms or wards and it disguises the spell to opponents, a very valuable Player vs Player tool!

Look for these and other new Sun Magic Enchantment spells in Celestia.

    Moon Magic (Polymorph)

The moon school is focused on polymorphing. Polymorph is a new way to play Wizard101 where players can use a spell card to transform the caster into another being and swap out their spell deck! You will not only LOOK like a creature, but you will also gain a whole new set of statistics for accuracy, health, pip chance, and more...allowing you to play different roles when grouping with friends. If a duel contains two Life Wizards on one side, one can cast the Draconian polymorph that will boost their damage. If a duel contains two Storm Wizards, one could cast the Gobbler polymorph to change their abilities to suit the duel and the partners in that duel.

Polymorphs happen by using a spell card and only last for a limited time (in rounds).

A Polymorphed player temporarily changes their character's Appearance. Players will take on the appearance of the Polymorph spell they cast.

A Polymorphed player temporarily changes their character's Stats. A Polymorph will affect a players Max Health ( Current Health is proportionally converted ), Power Pip Chance, School of Focus, Accuracy, Resistance to Damage, Vulnerabilities and Damage.

A Polymorphed player temporarily changes their character's spell Deck The new spell deck completely replaces the spell deck that the player was using previously

A Polymorphed player reverts back to their normal selves when the polymorph time has expired.

    Star School (Auras)

The star school will be focused around a new type of magic called Auras. Auras are magical energy that surround and protect or strengthen the Wizard. Auras are unique and different from other magic in that they can't be stacked, broken, or dispelled but they will disappear over time. Auras can boost accuracy, damage, resistance, or even convert incoming spells to pips for you.

Auras are cast as normal spells and can only have a target of "Self". Auras have a timer on them that is counted in rounds. After this timer is complete the aura is removed. Auras cannot be stacked with other Auras and Casting a subsequent Aura spell will replace the previous one.

    Effects of Auras
Auras have a few different special effect types that will be specific to them such as Stun Resistance, Pip Conversion, Accuracy Boost, Resistance Boost and Damage Boost.

    Specific Auras
Aura of Fortification ( Blue ) - This grants the player 15% resistance to all attacks.
Aura of Amplification ( Red ) - The grants the player a 15% bonus to outgoing damage.
Aura of Precision ( Green ) - This grants the player a 10% bonus to accuracy.
Aura of Conviction ( Yellow ) - This grants the player 90% resistance to stuns and 20% block chance.
Aura of Empowerment ( Purple ) - This grants the player an extra pip every time a rank 4 or higher spell is used on him / her.
Aura of Vengeance ( Orange ) - This grants the player a 20% boost to their critical hit chance.

    Critical and Block Statistics

    Critical and Block Statistics
The Critical and Block system is an addition to the existing dueling system that allows players to perform Critical Hits on opponents and avoid incoming Critical Hits. This will give players new strategies and defenses in combat and new ways to further build up their Wizard!

You'll notice your character sheet has changed a little. Press C to see a panel like this one.

The two new stats being added to the game are called Critical Hit Rating and Block Rating
Critical Hit Rating increase the player's chance of getting a critical hit.
Block Rating increases the player's chance of avoiding incoming critical hits.
Players will gain Critical Hit and Block bonuses from equipment.

The chance for a critical hit or a block is calculated AFTER fizzle and accuracy. When a spell fizzles no calculation for critical hit or block is made.
Charms, Enchantments, Wards, Manipulations and Globals are not subject to the Block / Critical system. Heals cannot be Blocked, but they can Critical!

You will also notice with these Critical and Block Statistics, that the Combat Rating System displays as a numeric value and not a percentage.
Equipment will have values of "+14 Block Rating" as opposed to the "+1% Block" style of statistic you are accustomed to seeing.

    Reagent Updates

Say goodbye to the woe of buying and selling individual reagents. Reagents can now be purchased and sold in bulk at the Bazaar and Reagent Vendors!

    Reagents in the Shared Bank
Hurray! Reagents can now be placed in your Shared Bank! These Reagents are under the 'Cards' tab. They do not count towards your total items in the Shared Bank, but have their own limit of 999 of each type.

    Deck Updates
Many players seem to end up selling their last deck, or unequipping their deck and finding themselves in a duel with only their wand to support them.

To prevent this from occurring players are no longer able to sell the last deck in their backpack. This will ensure that all players always have at least one deck.

Should, for some reason, you manage to unequip that deck, you will receive a warning message when you close your spellbook.

You are still responsible for putting spells in your decks!

Even after all that, if you manage to enter a duel with only your wand spells, you have the option to FLEE and then equip and build your deck in safety.

    Inventory Updates
Reagents and Snacks in the Shared Bank
Hurray! Pet Snacks and Reagents can now be placed in your Shared Bank! These Pet Snacks and Reagents are under the 'Cards' tab. They do not count towards your total items in the Shared Bank, but have their own limits.

    Inventory Amounts
Players can more easily see how many items are in their backpack and bank, so you'll know when you're getting full and have to take a trip to the Bazaar!

    Trash Confirmation
Trash button confirmation must now be clicked. You must click YES to confirm you actually want to trash an item that is in your inventory. This should help you avoid accidentally trashing the wrong item.

    Shopping Updates
We've listened to our players and added a few much asked for updates to how players shop.

    1. As mentioned above, Reagents can now be bought and sold in bulk at the Bazaar, and this applies to Pet Snacks as well!
    2. The Bazaar limit for Reagents has been raised to 500 per type.
    3. Players can no longer preview the contents of eggs in the Dye Shop.
    4. The maximum amount of gold that a character can have has been increased to 200 000.
    5. There is now a confirmation window to ensure you really want to sell a Crowns item.
    6. The order of Recipes in the Recipe Shops are now sorted by Crafter Level and then by price.
    Details Details Details
Below are some small but important details to note about changes made in this update.

    1. Second Chance chests will now give players an item even if their backpack is full, but note that item will go into the BANK.
    2. Wooden Chests will begin appearing in Grizzleheim.
    3. Some single Pet Hatching sigils have been added to the Hatchery for those who want to hatch two of their own pets, without a partner.
    4. Damage over Time spells will now take equipment damage bonus into account for each time the spell does damage.
    5. Raven Fortress Gates should no longer block your way during the Blood Brother quest.
    6. Players will no longer need to complete a series of side quests to enter the Dojo during the level 48 Life School Quest 'Summer is Coming'.
    7. Players can no longer use /r to speak to players not on your friends list.
    8. Life Henchmen will now heal injured players.
    9. Players will now receive exit warnings when leaving dungeons by the front door.
    10. Silver Chests no longer have the sigil in front.
    11. If you're under level 12 when you speak to Mr Lincoln, he will encourage you to return when you're level 12 if you want to exchange your secondary spell cards for the Training Points you spent on them.
    12. Kenedy the Klaw has discarded his fire deck in favor of the Myth Deck he should have been using all along.
    13. Block PvP Enemy Chat will be set to 'Yes' for all new players.
    14. Deleted players no longer show up in Friends lists.
    15. Elixirs can no longer be cancelled while in combat.
    16. Quest Helper is now available in Tomb of the Beguiler.
    17. Watch your language. Several chat exploits have been eliminated and failure to abide by the Terms of Use regarding chat can result in a permanent ban from Wizard101.
    18. Zeke's old sign in Olde Town has been removed.
    19. Cyrus found only a handful of typos this time around, and they have been corrected.

Alright, so after all that information which is SO exciting, there are still a few more videos that I HAVE to show you guys. Here are the videos of the final three boss fights in Celestia. (Don't worry there are NO spoilers. It actually turns out that the boss is NOT Morganthe, which makes sense. Celestia is the first world of the second story arc. (Wizard City - Dragonspyre + Grizzleheim was the first.) I mean we didn't fight Malistaire in Wizard City now did we? (If you answered yes, then something is wrong with your computer.)

If you recall these two very special pictures from our friend Leesha's (from Ravenwood Radio) trip to Austin, Texas.

Our Sun and Moon teachers? Completely wrong on that prediction Blaze! These are two of the final bosses of Celestia. Mithraya, and Ptolemos respectively. Here's three videos of these two and the Star God, Astraeus, in action. (Also courtesy of John Legendflame.)

Mithraya fight. (The last fight in Celestia.) Seems REALLY epic. Can't wait.

Ptolemos fight. He cheats, along with the other two and a majority of the Celestian bosses. I highly recommend The Warehouse questline if you haven't yet.

And finally, the Star God fight. For some reason his three minions are named Ptolemos. Odd. I'm sure the story will explain it all. :)

Now, for what you've all been waiting for. The official Lvl 58 spells. Here we go. First up Storm. Leviathan.  1030 Storm damage and remove 2 positive charms. Here it is in action.

Next up, Ice. It's called Snow Angel. 8 pips. 100 + 660 Ice damage over 3 rounds and Taunt all enemies. Here it is.

Next we have the Fire spell, Efreet. 895 Fire damage and -90% to next incoming spell. Here he is.

And here is the Death spell, Skeletal Dragon. It's personally my least favorite. I think they could've done a little better with it. It does 200 + 810 Death damage over 3 rounds. Here you go.

And, the Balance spell, Ra. He does 560 - 640 Balance Damage to ALL ENEMIES! :D Here he is.

We don't have videos for the Myth or Life spells yet, but when they come out, I will certainly show them to you. I have been notified though that the Life spell is called Mushroom Cloud and does a whopping 100 damage to all enemies and heals 500 for all friends. Seems a little overpowered to me and they'll probably nerf ( tone it down ) it a bit for the live realm, but I'm happy for all the Theurgists out there that finally will have another attack spell. (Now Kestrel won't have to quit and be Kymma forever.)

I think that's all for now. Enjoy the Test Realm everyone! Just remember that you'll have to do it ALL over again on the live realm. ;D

    Happy Gaming

    (Spell videos credit go to:
    • Spoink422Productions - Snow Angel
    • PiromancerFreak - Efreet
    • vuffer20 - Skeletal Dragon
    • TheDeathshard - Ra
    All on YouTube. ;D)

    EDIT:
The Life Spell is NOT Mushroom Cloud. This was a false rumor started by Kestrel Shadowthistle. All we know is that it will not be a healing spell. I apologize.
