Music Video Contest

Hey everyone. That's right. It's time to put out all those details about my contest.

As many of you know, I'm going to be creating a Wizard101 music video to celebrate the release of Celestia. You have decided we will use the song "Saltwater Room" by Owl City. I will be using the 'Ocean Eyes' version.

"Blaze, how do I enter?"

Simple, Inquiring Reader ,

How Do I Enter:

All you have to do is post a comment on this post (or any of my posts in the future up until the contest is closed.) with your name and some way for me to contact you if you are chosen to be in the video. (Wizard101 Central Username, e-mail, diary of a wizard, etc)

I will be using Random.Org to choose the winners, so there is no controversy about if it's bias or not. If there is a smaller number of people that enter, I might do small auditions.

Requirements:
My only requirement is that you know the words to the song. YOU DO NOT NEED ACCESS TO CELESTIA TO BE IN THE VIDEO. This way anyone can be in the video.

Parts:
Male Singer
Female Singer
10 Dancers (5 of each if possible.)

Ok, that's pretty much everything. Here's the song, so you guys can practice some more. ;)

The lyrics to the song are in the video description.

Thanks guys. Please pass this post on to your friends if you think they'd like to enter.

Merry Christmas, Gardening, and [Music Video] Preview (CONTEST PART 1)

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been blogging for a long time. I wasn't allowed to use my computer.

Anyway. I'm here to let you all know that I missed you very much and to get all my blogging needs out of my system after being bottled up for about two weeks. :)

While I was gone, the gardening feature went live. Now, before I give you all the info on how to garden and whatnot, I just want to rant a little.

One of the many reasons I like love Wizard101 is because it's not one of those games that you have to go one every single day  and get your stupid daily bonuses or what have you. Putting this feature into the game is just going to turn Wizard101 into just another 'Webkinz.' (Not that Webkinz wasn't a ton of fun for about a year in 4th grade. It just got really old really fast.) I just don't want that to happen to Wizard101. It doesn't deserve to go in the Gaming Graveyard and be put in the same category as.... x shudder x Neopets.

I understand that you don't HAVE to have a garden, but I mean it's cool and another way to interact with our housing.

"But, Blaze. How could we make gardening a better feature and not have Wizard101 be a 'Boring Everday' kind of game?"

Well, my Inquiring Reader, simple. Just create an option so that the timer for your plants' needs only runs while you are logged onto the game. That way, our plants don't die while we sleep, or have to go to school, do homework, etc.

So, after that, here's your newsletter on the 'Feature Which Shall Not Be Named.'

Hello everyone! Professor Moolinda Wu here and I'm excited to tell you all about a new feature in the Spiral: Gardening! To get started on your path to a greener thumb, come visit me in my classroom in Ravenwood if you are level 12 or higher.

Students at Ravenwood can plant and grow amazing plants in their Dorms and Castles! Wizards of all schools can garden, so my hope is that every student will learn the joy of shepherding new life!

A plant's journey of life begins as a seed. There are many types of seeds, each with a different destiny. With enough energy, you can prepare soil of your choice in your Castle (if you have one) or a planter in your dorm. Then you can place the seed into the readied soil. After a time, it will begin to grow. You can shepherd its growth through spells and other means of caring for it, creating an environment for it to thrive.

After you've planted your seed, it starts to grow, from seed to seedling, young plant, mature plant to elder. You can use a number of helpful spells to usher it along as it grows, keeping it healthy and happy. Once you have planted a seedling, either in a plot or in a pot, it cannot be moved.

This is a seedling, the youngest phase of life for a plant. You will need Energy to plant a seed in a planter or the ground. After a seed is planted, you can use plant growth spells on it to help it flourish. Plants require some things to thrive and survive: water, sunshine, pollination, magic and even music.

This is a young plant, in its next stage of life after seedling. You can observe your plant's growth visually and you can move your cursor over your plant to Inspect it. This provides you with information about your plant's health and needs. You can also affect your plant by using some simple spells: The Plow spell allows you to remove a plant or dirt pile, if you wish to do so. The Revive spell allows you to transform a dead plant into a new seedling, ready to grow once more.
This is a mature plant, in the fullness of its growth. When a plant becomes mature, it can be harvested. You can harvest a plant by interacting with it. Each type of plant yields a different harvest: reagents, pet snacks, gold, treasure cards, or more seeds! You can harvest from a plant as long as it's in its mature stage of life. When a plant is in its mature stage that doesn’t mean that you can harvest it right away or that it’s continually harvestable. It means that once every day or so it will be harvestable so long as it’s in that mature state.

This is an elder plant, the final stage of a plant's life cycle. Many plants won't reach this stage! An elder plant can be harvested one final time, with much greater possible rewards. Once an elder plant is harvested, it disappears and cannot be revived.

I'm sad to say that gardening isn't all nurturing and happiness. Plants can be endangered by some very real threats.

This plant is wilting. It will die before too long if it is not taken care of. Plants can die if their needs are not met, if they are in surrounded by things they dislike, or if they are killed by pests. Plants have likes and dislikes, things that encourage or discourage their growth. A plant's likes are things it enjoyes being near. These can include other types of plants or gardening items. A plant will flourish if it is near things that it likes, while things it dislikes will cause it to become unhealthy. An important part of gardening is learning how to arrange your plants, and create a healthy garden for them.

This plant is dead. Now all that can be done is to plow it over, or to revive it. The greatest threat to plants are pests. Pests can infest a plant and hinder its growth. If pests are not eliminated, eventually the plant will begin to wilt and die. When a plant is infested by pests, it cannot be harvested. To eliminate pests, you must use pest fighting spells. To eliminate a pest, the spell must be of high enough rank. You can purchase pest fighting spells from vendors throughout the Spiral, or even win them as treasures. It's a sorry state to see plants doing so poorly, but it's important to know what risks there are when gardening.

"But, Blaze. How do I garden?"

Let's find out.

Where do I get Seeds?
You can get seeds from gardening vendors throughout the Spiral. Farley is the gardening vendor in Wizard City's Golem Court, look for his cousins Marley, Charley and Harley in other worlds. You can also earn seeds as rewards through defeating enemies in magic duels, or get them in other ways.

How do I Plant?
To prepare an area for planting outdoors in your Castle, you must cast a soil preparation spell. Soil preparation spells cost Energy. To garden in your dorm room or an indoor space in your Castle, you must buy a planter from the gardening vendor. There are different sizes and types of plants, but some types of plants cannot be planted indoors.

When you're ready to plant a seed in prepared soil or a planter, you must select the seed from your Gardening panel then select the location. This places the chosen seed into the soil or planter, where it can begin to grow.

Plants require attention to grow in the form of plant growing spells. All plants have needs that must be met, and plant growing spells fulfill those needs for a period of time. Plants needs include water, sunlight, pollination, music and magic. Plant growing spells cost Energy to cast, and are cast through the garden interface in your home.

Plants have likes & dislikes, conditions that can help them grow or hinder their development. A plant will grow faster if it is surrouned by things it likes, and it will grow slower if it is surrounded by things it dislikes.  You can learn what a plant likes or dislikes by using the Inspect spell on it.

Plants go through several stages as they grow, from seed to seedling to young plant to mature plant to elder plant. Once a plant is mature, you can harvest it by interacting with it. A plant can be harvested repeatedly until it reaches the elder stage. Harvesting yields rewards such as reagents, pet snacks, gold, treasure cards or other seeds. When a plant reaches the elder stage, it can be harvested only one more time. This harvest will yield the greatest rewards. After this, the elder plant will disappear.

Gardening Tools
Utility spells are useful for many aspects of gardening. The plow spell removes a targeted plant or dirt pile. The Inspect spell lets you look at a targeted plant's characteristics and progress. The Revive spell lets you turn a plant that has died into a young plant of the same type.

  Pests
Plants can sometimes suffer from pests. Pests are annoying critters that will cause it to wilt and die if they are not dealt with. To get rid of pests, you will need to cast the appropriate pest fighting spell. Different types of pests require different types of spells. Pests are ranked and require spells equal to or greater than their rank.
If you have a high enough gardening rank, you can cast pest prevention spells to keep pests away from your garden. You can buy pest fighting and pest prevention spells from certain trainers throughout the Spiral, you can buy them at the Crown shop or you can earn them through treasure rewards.  Each plant differs by how easy they are to garden, how long they take to grow and mature and how long they live.

As you continue to garden you will earn gardening experience through successfully harvesting plants. There are 10 ranks of gardening:

  1. Novice
  2. Neophyte
  3. Apprentice
  4. Initiate
  5. Intermediate
  6. Journeyman
  7. Expert
  8. Adept
  9. Master
  10. Grandmaster
The types of seeds you can plant may be restricted, requiring a minimum gardening rank. Additionally, some kinds of gardening equipment and spells require minimum gardening rank to use.\

"Is that all that's been added to Wizard101, Blaze?"

No, my friends! there's more!

Celestian Furniture
Yes you read that correctly! Celestian Furniture has come to the Spiral, as well as recipes for furniture from our newest underwater world!

Keyboard Shortcuts
The Keyboard Shortcut to enable/disable the Quest Tracker has changed from T to CTRL-T. This should prevent many young Wizards from accidentally disabling their Quest Tracker when attempting to chat.

Menu Chat
New phrases have been added to Menu Chat, including a quick 'You're Welcome' for our very polite Wizards!

No Trade Items
No Trade and No Auction stats have been removed from many Celestia items.

Pets
Zombie pets will no longer be stuck swimming.
The Myth Imp pet spell is now properly casting to dispel both Life and Death spells.
The Seraph pet's card will no longer show damage to all enemies.
Pets with 'May Cast Trap' will no longer be casting those traps on their owners!

Energy
Since your Energy is shared by both Pets and Gardening, Max Energy has been increased. Energy now begins at 40 at level 1, and increases by 1 at each even-numbered level.
References to Pet Energy are now just "Energy".

Quests
The Final Countdown quest can now be completed by a solo player. There is no longer a timer to activate the power crystals and there is also no longer a timer for the two set of creatures that trigger the doors to be opened that are right before Malistaire's room.

Crowns Shop
When an item is on sale in the Crowns Shop, you will now see both the full price with a strikethrough and the sale price, so you can see how much you are saving.

Polymorphs
Players should no longer see their names change when they use a Polymorph spell.

Treasure Cards
Polymorph Treasure Cards now have level requirements and will not be received as rewards for duels.

Spells
Mildred Farseer has something interesting for you!
Helping Hands will now heal on the first round, and resurrect fallen players.

Travel
Mounts can now be used in the Spiral Chambers of Marleybone and MooShu.

Recipes
Equipment, furniture, pet snack, treasure card and transmute recipes have been added to Celestia!

Furniture
Heavy Dining Table can be placed in more locations now.

Reagents
Sandstone and Sunstone can now be found on bosses in The Solar District and the Trial of the Spheres.

The one of those that excites me most is the 'Helping Hand' spell change. As all my fellow sorcerers out there know, when you cast the spell, it would heal the next round, not on the round casted. Also, you were able to cast on fallen players, but since it healed the next round, it would disappear before then and do nothing. But, now with this update, I'll finally be able to heal a significant amount without treasures or amulets. (I do have an amulet with a Seraph and Satyr on it. Just can't equip it yet. It's level 56, and I'm like 52.) So that's really cool.

Polymorphs. We won't get to see Arlen as [Can't remember. Need to check picture] anymore.

[PICTURE HERE!]

Celestian furniture! Huge deal with that! So pumped! I can make the main room of my house a sick Celestian room now! I love it.

Level requirements for polymorphs! So awesome! Now we don't have to deal with those crazy kids running around PvP with 9 billion health. (I've never actually seen that happen, I'm just assuming it did.)

'The Final Countdown' can now be solo-ed. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean, a huge part of the "Malistaire's Lair" event of the game was getting together with your friends and banning together to fight this huge powerful wizard boss. But, now that it's not required. I don't know if that takes away some of the significance of that battle. I mean, sure, it will be a huge challenge to solo and I'm sure some players were itching for that to be possible, but I'm not sure. Let me know what you guys think.

Oh, before I forget. I can't post any pictures yet, so just be patient. I got a new computer for Christmas and all my files haven't been transferred over yet, so I can't really post any of the pictures that I have locked up in the Picture Vault, just yet.

And by one vote. The song choice for my Wizard101 Celestia music video will be:

[Drumroll Troll]

The Saltwater Room by Owl City.

Great choice, everyone.

Here's the runners up and the song:

Under The Sea - The Little Mermaid - 2 votes
Umbrella Beach - Owl City - 2 votes
Everything Is Not What It Seems - Selena Gomez - 1 vote
Magical - Selena Gomez - 1 vote
Magic Carpet Ride - KSM - 1 vote

Strange Magic - Steve Rushton
Disappear - Selena Gomez
You Can Do Magic - Drew Seeley
Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic - Mitchell Musso

I will be using the 'Ocean Eyes' version, just because that's the one that I have. (If you guys would rather me use the 'Maybe I'm Dreaming' version, just let me know, and I can do that instead.)

I will be needing two singers for the video. (And a few dancers. About 5.) I'll get 3 understudies for dancing / singing because as we all know, time gets in the way 99% of the time.

So. If you want to enter in the contest. Just post a comment in this post. and the next post I will make which will be all about the video. Thanks. :)

Happy Thanksgiginv! (Head Nod To Friendly)

Ok guys. I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving. (or Thanksgiginv as Blaze Mistshard calls it.)

I had a great time this weekend hanging out with Donna Spellthorn and a ton of other bloggers at the Piggle Rally. (I think Piggle Palooza sounds better.) Shame I only found out about it a few hours before it was gonna start. I could've made a sick logo and glog to promote it. (I LOVE doing stuff like that so please don't hesitate to shoot me an e-mail. [blazesilverfist@gmail.com for those who don't know. I probably should add some text in the sidebar with that on it.])

Anyway, here's some pictures from the party. Oh, did I mention it was at Donna's MASSIVE FANTASY PALACE!?!?!

There were just a ton of awesome people there. Leesha Darkheart and Stephen Spiritcaller (Ravenwood Radio,) Paige Moonshade (Paige's Page,) Amber Rosepetal, Donna Spellthorn obviously, (Diary of a Life Wizard,) Arlen Dawneyes, (The Two-Headed Wizard,) Benjamin Frogstone, Heather Raven, (The Wandering Conjurer,) Christina Icedreamer (IcyWiz from Ravenwood Radio,) Fallon, and even Cassandra Griffindreamer (WitchWarrior101. Most of you probably know her from Friendly's song: here.)

Thomas Lionblood (Friendly's main,) Bailey Skystaff (Mrs. Friendly) and Kevin Battleblood, (The Chillanthropologist, Petnome,) couldn't make it, but it was still a rockin' party.

It was set up really well. There was a huge Thanksgiving Feast / Piggle Pen inside the great hall.

We never actually got to hang inside though because everyone just mysteriously disappeared after a while. (You guys have some serious explaining to do. ;D) When I came back from supper everyone was completely gone. Even Donna! I texted her and her and a the few others had gone to another house.

Before the party, as I mentioned, Donna, Amber, and I hung out. We had a witch hunt, where Donna (being a witch) would hide, and me and her friend Alura would have to find her. We even had an intense chase scene.

I played 'Alice's Theme' (Danny Elfman) from the Alice in Wonderland Soundtrack. Made the chase SO much better!)

Here's me confronting the witch in her dungeon.

Donna and I wore our pilgrim clothes and visited the first Thanksgiving together too!

(Clicky make biggy as with all my pictures.)

Make sure you go get some cool pilgrim duds from Harvest Hannah as well as a cool Autum/Fall/or Corn Wand. (I love my wand. CORN POWERS, GO!)

Many of you remember my picture on where we theorycrafted Eggbert goes when he's not visiting the Spiral.

Yeah, hanging out with Miley Cyrus. Well, I looked closer and saw that it actually wasn't Miley he was with. It was Hannah! (Harvest Hannah. Not to be confused with Hannah Montana.) Which is ironic considering Miley is Hannah Montana.)

Funny, isn't it? Maybe all our Shopping District friends go to this beach when they're on vacation.

In closing, remember our monthly poll. (Only 14 days left to vote.) Choose what song you want me to use for the Wizard101 music video I plan on making, starring YOU GUYS! (I list the song, artist, and how many wizards I would need for the video.)

Thanks guys. Have a great week.

Happy Gaming

The Spiral Is Blossoming

Friendly is proven correct once again. We are coming out with a new expansion VERY soon. GARDENING! We will now be able to have items that allow us to harvest reagents, treasure cards, pet snacks, and other helpful items directly from our home! (It will cost energy to cast gardening spells. This is drawn from our pet energy globe.) Sounds really fun! (There is no official press announcement on this feature just yet, so when W101 tells us about it expect something from me.)

Here's a picture from Paige Moonshade:

And a good post from Tipa.
Another addition to the update will be Celestian Furniture, such as this Brain Coral from Selenor,

Yeah, when I herd that I thought of that Spongebob episode too.

http://www.spike.com/video/spongebob/2773872 (I couldn't find a clip of it. Skip to around 9:25.)

and there's this Solar Icon (which I absolutely love!) from Mirthraya.

There are also going to be furniture salesman in the Base Camp.

I'll keep you guys updated on these 2 great new additions to the Spiral. They are both available in the Test Realm currently. (Even though it says it's closed.)

Enjoy.

100th Post and My Birthday

Hey guys, as you can probably tell, this is my 100th post. It seems like it's only been a few post that I've done. Haha. I really want to thank all my readers for making this possible for me. I really appreciate all of you. (Even the ones that aren't in the Follower Box over there in the sidebar.) I love you all so much and I just wanna say thank you.

The big news is that it was my birthday yesterday. I got a ton of loving messages from you all on my facebook page. Thank you guys SO much! So, now that I'm officially 15, I don't really feel all that different. Another important occasion is that it's been officially 1 year that I've been on Wizard101. It doesn't seem all that long ago that I was working out Emily and Dakota's argument on Triton Avenue. I can't believe it's been that long since I was a little lvl 1. Level 52 now. Man, time flies. I've had a wonderful experience with all of you bloggers, fans, and friends. You're all amazing. The Wizard101 community truly is magical.

Now enough about me. ;D We've been given the FINAL CELESTIA WALLPAPER! Yeah, that's right. Here it is.

So we've been given Cuthalla, a Seahorse mount and in the center, Thurston Plunkett? But I thought he was a fat dog, or a frog? Hmm... (if that's not Thurston please let me know. I haven't gotten that far in CL yet. ;D)

In fact the other day I fought our two friends here. (By porting of course.)

Yeah, I love that little guy.^ So cute! :3

(Clicky Make Biggy^)

Also. Monthly Poll. Yeah, I've just been so busy. I hate to say that. I love playing W101 and being able to let you know what's going on in my life. It's been a huge pain to not be able to blog lately.

So, results from October's poll.

Drumroll Troll?

The question was: Would you like to star in a Wizard101 music video by Blaze.

Our answers were as follows:

  1. Of course! Blaze is awesome! - 85% (6 votes)
  2. No thanks... - 14% (1 vote)
  3. Maybe - 0% (No votes)
Only 7 votes? Come on guys. The popularity of my blog has gone down a lot lately. I don't know if it's just that school is going on. (I've only been doing this for a short time, now.) If any bloggers have comments on that please just let me know in the comments section of this post. Thanks :)

And this month's poll:

What song would you like Blaze to use for the music video?

Here's the song, the artist, and how many people would be needed for the video. I tried to pick songs that had something to do with water, or magic in general.
  • Under The Sea - The Little Mermaid - 10 people
  • Part of Your World - The Little Mermaid (Miley Cyrus) - 1 person
  • Part of Your World (Jessica Simpson) - 1 person
  • Part of Your World (Skye Sweetnam) - 1 person
  • Bottom of The Ocean - Miley Cyrus - 1 person
  • Magic - Honor Society (Wizards of Waverly Place Soundtrack) - 2 people
  • Magic - Meaghan Martin (WoWP Soundtrack) - 1 person
  • Magic - Selena Gomez (WoWP Soundtrack) - 1 person
  • Magic Carpet Ride - KSM (WoWP Soundtrack) - 4 people
  • Magical - Selena Gomez (WoWP Soundtrack) - 1 person
  • The Saltwater Room - Owl City - 2 people
  • Strange Magic - Steve Rushton (WoWP Soundtrack) - 2 people
  • Disappear - Selena Gomez (WoWP Soundtrack) - 1 person
  • You Can Do Magic - Drew Seeley - 2 people
  • Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic - Mitchell Musso (WoWP Soundtrack) - 2 people
  • Some Call It Magic - Raven Symoné (WoWP Soundtrack) - 3 people
  • Everything Is Not What It Seems - Selena Gomez (WoWP Soundtrack) - 1 person
  • Umbrella Beach - Owl City - 1 person
I think the Saltwater Room would do nicely. But vote for what you think would be best.

Ok, so the thing I've been putting off for months now, Elik's Bazaar Monthly Housing Item (or whatever the heckhound I called it) is going to be put off ONE MORE POST. I swear this time. :) I just need to film me showing off the items for the next few ones and I'll be all set.

Alright. Thanks once again for being here for me.

Happy Gaming

Veterans' Day

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been so sparse with my posts lately. I feel like I'm letting you all down.

But that's not what's important today. Today we honor those who have served in the Air Force, Navy, Marines, and the Army. Those, who have defended the country against violence and provided us with our rights. Thank you.

I'd like to share this video with all of those who have a loved one over seas right now.

Thank you're loved ones for risking their lives and making the ultimate sacrifice of leaving their family and friends to serve their country. The best gift that you can give them back is to let you know you love them and everything is ok.

Here's another great video from the Hannah Montana Forever episode where Miley gives back to the troops and realizes how lucky she is to have her family with her.

In honor of the US troops, Wizard101 is giving out a Valor Statue to every account that logs in until the 14th at 11:59pm Central U.S. time.

Thank you to all our armed forces. Take care.

Celestia. For Real This Time.

I can't believe it either. We've known about Celestia for 6 worlds now.

x Dramatic Montage x

Awww! Look at me in my Krokotopia rope, with my Pinapple Wand (as some kid I was friends with for a while called it,) and my Cowl of Comparison. I wore that hat all the way through Lvl 45. I loved that hat. I couldn't bring myself to sell it due to all the good memories stored within it's orange and blue stitches. I have it in my Bank.

Now, I know what you're probably wondering. "Blaze, why did you wear that Lvl 5 hat to such a high Lvl? Well Inquiring Reader, I could never find a hat with good stats that I liked the look of. (Looks are important to me in the world of Wizard101 clothing. ;D)

Anyway. We're now at the point where our dreams and fan fictions and theorycrafting comes to the game.

Celestia is going live.

When? Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 27th, 2010.

A huge day in Wizard History. The day Headmaster Merle Ambrose repairs the key we recovered so long ago from Estrakir Gloomthorn (grumble grumble,) and allows us access into the underwater utopia that is Celestia.

Let's just do a re-cap shall we?

Here's our new storyline:

Long ago, the Astral Wizards of Celestia created powerful magic using the energy of the Stars, the Moon, and the Sun. The sorceress, Morganthe, the Queen of the Shadow Web, wanted the secrets of the Celestian magic at... all costs. The Celestians refused her, so she raised a dark army and sent it against Celestia. After decades of battle, the Astral Wizards realized their world would fall. They summoned the Storm Titan to defeat Morganthe’s legions and to take their world to a place of safety.

The Storm Titan betrayed the Celestians by sinking their world beneath the waves along with Morganthe’s invading forces. Realizing they were doomed, the Celestians raised mighty domes to protect some of their treasured city from the waves, though it was too late! They perished along with Morganthe's invading army. Celestia was lost to the Spiral, its Spiral Door closed forever.

Centuries later, a team of brave explorers from the Spiral Geographic Society, led by Sir Thurston Plunkett, re-discovered Celestia. They landed with an air-ship, and built exploratory undersea domes to explore Celestia’s ruins. Plunkett and his fellow explorers soon realized that Celestia was now inhabited by a strange new culture... the Crustacean Empire. Unfortunately, the explorers did not come alone to Celestia. Morganthe’s followers, the Shadow Weavers, stand ready to take Celestia’s magic for their Queen.

After receiving the Spiral Geographic Society’s distress call, Headmaster Merle Ambrose, of the Ravenwood School for Magic, seeks any young Wizards brave enough to journey to the undersea world of Celestia, and discover the secrets of it's lost magic.

What will they find there?

Crazy, I know. I can't wait!

And after many reveals (14 in fact,) we have this.

We've learned our new Lvl 58 spells (Efreet, Snow Angel, Leviathan, Medusa, Forest Lord, Skeletal
Dragon, and Ra.)

We've even gotten new items and mounts and pets. The Crabling, the Gobbler, the Shark Mount,
The Celestian Trident and Sword, and even Arlen Dawneye's Wayfinder Gear.

And coming November 1st. We will get an insane new gift card.

This EPIC $39 gift card will include:

  • 1 Month Subscription OR 5,000 Crowns
  • Fantasy Palace Castle
  • Additional Castle Space Elixir
  • Minigame Kiosk Housing Item
  • Gryphon Mount
  • Ancient Spear of Power
  • Epic Clothing Set
  • Mystery Dueling Pet
I know. Amazing. But what exactly is a Fantasy Palace Castle? Let me show you.

That's a nice walkthrough of it by Friendly.

As requested by Autumnal Dusk from Homework in a Graveyard, we now have our:

Nice job, Autumn!

I'm personally psyched for this castle. It's SO huge! And with all those secret passageways and space, I could just spend my entire life decorating and hanging out there.

And a Minigame kiosk too? You'll never have to leave your house!

There's Friendly next to the Kiosk on his Gryphon mount. (Yes it still gives +40% Speed boost, unlike the white and black striped cat for charity that only gave +20% at the same price. [Someone remind me of it's name.])

"But, Blaze, what's an Epic Clothing gear?"

Well, it's a clothing set that comes with amazing cards. But, you can CHOOSE what level the gear is (this will also change what cards and stats come with it.) What's cool about it, is that it looks like Warlord gear. What is kind of sucky about it is that you can't change what level it is after you've selected it the first time. (In other words, just get the Lvl 50.)

That's the Mystery Dueling pet that Friendly got. We're not sure of the specifics of the pets just yet.

But what about the Ancient Spear of Power?

Best. Wand. Ever.

It gives a 110 wand hit card FROM EACH SCHOOL!

It really seems like an amazing gift card. It's going to be sold ONLY AT GAMESTOP. So be sure to make your Christmas lists early because they will go off the shelves FAST!

Also, I made a Halloween video, but I haven't quite finished putting it together yet, so next post I can put that up for you.

Also, you may have noticed my new Voki on the sidebar. Should be to your left right about now. I'm going to use that to make quick little updates. Check it out right now. (Click the little play button in the bottom left corner of it.)

Anyway, Celestia is coming out tomorrow and I'm pretty psyched. ;D

The bosses will now cheat. They will start with Power Pips. They have enormous amounts of health. The bosses and enemies here are far more powerful than we can ever imagine. The journey ahead is a long one, but we, the Wizards of Ravenwood School of Magical Arts, can handle whatever swims our way.

Giant Shih-Tzu and Mushroom Cloud?

Hey guys. Again, sorry I'm late posting this. I've just been so busy with high school. Lame excuse, but true. So here are the videos of our new level 60 Life and Myth spells.

Life is Forest Lord, which at 90% accuracy, does a whopping 540-620 damage TO ALL ENEMIES! Congratulations to all the happy theurgists out there. Here's the video of your new best friend.

And Medusa (as predicted by our good friend, L.R. Jonte from A Mythspent Youth,), for Myth, which does 770 damage and stun for 2 rounds at 80% accuracy. Disappointingly not an AOE (area of effect [all enemies]) spell.

Well, there you have it. All our new spells, tightly packed into 2 posts.

I believe that's all I have to say for now. (I have a surprise for you tomorrow ;D)

Celestia Goes To Test Realm

Alright, so as most of you probably know by now, Celestia is finally on the Test Realm.

I'm pretty speechless right now, so let me just show you a few videos of the new content. sdf

A tour of the Commons area.

A tour of the Survey Camp

A tour of The Grotto

All videos are from John Legendsword (heroboy102 on YouTube.)

Those are pretty awesomesauce, am I right. or am I right?

Here's the update news from the Wizard101 website:

Journey to Celestia!
Merle has determined that Celestia is safe for his strongest Wizard students!

New quests, new badges, new reagents, new creatures, new friends and new foes, new mounts, new pets, new spells and many new adventures await!

Players who have reached level 48 and completed the Dragonspyre quest "The Final Countdown" should speak to Merle Ambrose for more information about Celestia.

Wizard101 has added 10 more levels! Level 50 players will see the return of their experience bar. Level 50 players can once again earn new experience from quests and duels.

With this level cap increase, come new Rank 8 Spells! These spells are available at level 58, but only through a quest from your Professor, so watch for those ToolTip messages! The rest of the new spells you'll have to discover on your adventures!

You will not receive experience from prior quests and duels that you completed when you were level 50.

New Schools of Magic

Sun Magic (Enchantments)

The focus of the Sun School is primarily on enchantments. Enchantments from the Sun School operate in the same manner as all other enchantments in the game. At the basic level they just give boosts to accuracy and damage but at higher levels they will include mutates and larger bonuses. One of the differences between Sun School enchantments and other in-game enchantments is that cards enchanted with Sun School cards disappear after combat is resolved. Sun School cards cannot be used on Rank 0 spells or Rank X spells.

Mutate Spells
Mutation spells are a big part of Sun Magic, such as this Mutate Kraken into Inferno Kraken!

Cloak Spell
Cloak has returned in a big way! Some of you may recall finding a Cloak Treasure card in the past, and we've brought this dynamic back to the game, with enhancements!
A Cloak enchantment card may be used on spell cards that are flagged as charms or wards and it disguises the spell to opponents, a very valuable Player vs Player tool!

Look for these and other new Sun Magic Enchantment spells in Celestia.

Moon Magic (Polymorph)

The moon school is focused on polymorphing. Polymorph is a new way to play Wizard101 where players can use a spell card to transform the caster into another being and swap out their spell deck! You will not only LOOK like a creature, but you will also gain a whole new set of statistics for accuracy, health, pip chance, and more...allowing you to play different roles when grouping with friends. If a duel contains two Life Wizards on one side, one can cast the Draconian polymorph that will boost their damage. If a duel contains two Storm Wizards, one could cast the Gobbler polymorph to change their abilities to suit the duel and the partners in that duel.

Polymorphs happen by using a spell card and only last for a limited time (in rounds).

A Polymorphed player temporarily changes their character's Appearance. Players will take on the appearance of the Polymorph spell they cast.

A Polymorphed player temporarily changes their character's Stats. A Polymorph will affect a players Max Health ( Current Health is proportionally converted ), Power Pip Chance, School of Focus, Accuracy, Resistance to Damage, Vulnerabilities and Damage.

A Polymorphed player temporarily changes their character's spell Deck The new spell deck completely replaces the spell deck that the player was using previously

A Polymorphed player reverts back to their normal selves when the polymorph time has expired.

Star School (Auras)

The star school will be focused around a new type of magic called Auras. Auras are magical energy that surround and protect or strengthen the Wizard. Auras are unique and different from other magic in that they can't be stacked, broken, or dispelled but they will disappear over time. Auras can boost accuracy, damage, resistance, or even convert incoming spells to pips for you.

Auras are cast as normal spells and can only have a target of "Self". Auras have a timer on them that is counted in rounds. After this timer is complete the aura is removed. Auras cannot be stacked with other Auras and Casting a subsequent Aura spell will replace the previous one.

Effects of Auras
Auras have a few different special effect types that will be specific to them such as Stun Resistance, Pip Conversion, Accuracy Boost, Resistance Boost and Damage Boost.

Specific Auras
Aura of Fortification ( Blue ) - This grants the player 15% resistance to all attacks.
Aura of Amplification ( Red ) - The grants the player a 15% bonus to outgoing damage.
Aura of Precision ( Green ) - This grants the player a 10% bonus to accuracy.
Aura of Conviction ( Yellow ) - This grants the player 90% resistance to stuns and 20% block chance.
Aura of Empowerment ( Purple ) - This grants the player an extra pip every time a rank 4 or higher spell is used on him / her.
Aura of Vengeance ( Orange ) - This grants the player a 20% boost to their critical hit chance.

Critical and Block Statistics

Critical and Block Statistics
The Critical and Block system is an addition to the existing dueling system that allows players to perform Critical Hits on opponents and avoid incoming Critical Hits. This will give players new strategies and defenses in combat and new ways to further build up their Wizard!

You'll notice your character sheet has changed a little. Press C to see a panel like this one.

The two new stats being added to the game are called Critical Hit Rating and Block Rating
Critical Hit Rating increase the player's chance of getting a critical hit.
Block Rating increases the player's chance of avoiding incoming critical hits.
Players will gain Critical Hit and Block bonuses from equipment.

The chance for a critical hit or a block is calculated AFTER fizzle and accuracy. When a spell fizzles no calculation for critical hit or block is made.
Charms, Enchantments, Wards, Manipulations and Globals are not subject to the Block / Critical system. Heals cannot be Blocked, but they can Critical!

You will also notice with these Critical and Block Statistics, that the Combat Rating System displays as a numeric value and not a percentage.
Equipment will have values of "+14 Block Rating" as opposed to the "+1% Block" style of statistic you are accustomed to seeing.

Reagent Updates

Say goodbye to the woe of buying and selling individual reagents. Reagents can now be purchased and sold in bulk at the Bazaar and Reagent Vendors!

Reagents in the Shared Bank
Hurray! Reagents can now be placed in your Shared Bank! These Reagents are under the 'Cards' tab. They do not count towards your total items in the Shared Bank, but have their own limit of 999 of each type.

Deck Updates
Many players seem to end up selling their last deck, or unequipping their deck and finding themselves in a duel with only their wand to support them.

To prevent this from occurring players are no longer able to sell the last deck in their backpack. This will ensure that all players always have at least one deck.

Should, for some reason, you manage to unequip that deck, you will receive a warning message when you close your spellbook.

You are still responsible for putting spells in your decks!

Even after all that, if you manage to enter a duel with only your wand spells, you have the option to FLEE and then equip and build your deck in safety.

Inventory Updates
Reagents and Snacks in the Shared Bank
Hurray! Pet Snacks and Reagents can now be placed in your Shared Bank! These Pet Snacks and Reagents are under the 'Cards' tab. They do not count towards your total items in the Shared Bank, but have their own limits.

Inventory Amounts
Players can more easily see how many items are in their backpack and bank, so you'll know when you're getting full and have to take a trip to the Bazaar!

Trash Confirmation
Trash button confirmation must now be clicked. You must click YES to confirm you actually want to trash an item that is in your inventory. This should help you avoid accidentally trashing the wrong item.

Shopping Updates
We've listened to our players and added a few much asked for updates to how players shop.

  1. As mentioned above, Reagents can now be bought and sold in bulk at the Bazaar, and this applies to Pet Snacks as well!
  2. The Bazaar limit for Reagents has been raised to 500 per type.

  18. Zeke's old sign in Olde Town has been removed.
  19. Cyrus found only a handful of typos this time around, and they have been corrected.

Alright, so after all that information which is SO exciting, there are still a few more videos that I HAVE to show you guys. Here are the videos of the final three boss fights in Celestia. (Don't worry there are NO spoilers. It actually turns out that the boss is NOT Morganthe, which makes sense. Celestia is the first world of the second story arc. (Wizard City - Dragonspyre + Grizzleheim was the first.) I mean we didn't fight Malistaire in Wizard City now did we? (If you answered yes, then something is wrong with your computer.)

If you recall these two very special pictures from our friend Leesha's (from Ravenwood Radio) trip to Austin, Texas.

Our Sun and Moon teachers? Completely wrong on that prediction Blaze! These are two of the final bosses of Celestia. Mithraya, and Ptolemos respectively. Here's three videos of these two and the Star God, Astraeus, in action. (Also courtesy of John Legendflame.)

Mithraya fight. (The last fight in Celestia.) Seems REALLY epic. Can't wait.

Ptolemos fight. He cheats, along with the other two and a majority of the Celestian bosses. I highly recommend The Warehouse questline if you haven't yet.

And finally, the Star God fight. For some reason his three minions are named Ptolemos. Odd. I'm sure the story will explain it all. :)

Now, for what you've all been waiting for. The official Lvl 58 spells. Here we go. First up Storm. Leviathan.  1030 Storm damage and remove 2 positive charms. Here it is in action.

Next up, Ice. It's called Snow Angel. 8 pips. 100 + 660 Ice damage over 3 rounds and Taunt all enemies. Here it is.

Next we have the Fire spell, Efreet. 895 Fire damage and -90% to next incoming spell. Here he is.

And here is the Death spell, Skeletal Dragon. It's personally my least favorite. I think they could've done a little better with it. It does 200 + 810 Death damage over 3 rounds. Here you go.

And, the Balance spell, Ra. He does 560 - 640 Balance Damage to ALL ENEMIES! :D Here he is.

We don't have videos for the Myth or Life spells yet, but when they come out, I will certainly show them to you. I have been notified though that the Life spell is called Mushroom Cloud and does a whopping 100 damage to all enemies and heals 500 for all friends. Seems a little overpowered to me and they'll probably nerf ( tone it down ) it a bit for the live realm, but I'm happy for all the Theurgists out there that finally will have another attack spell. (Now Kestrel won't have to quit and be Kymma forever.)

I think that's all for now. Enjoy the Test Realm everyone! Just remember that you'll have to do it ALL over again on the live realm. ;D

EDIT:
The Life Spell is NOT Mushroom Cloud. This was a false rumor started by Kestrel Shadowthistle. All we know is that it will not be a healing spell. I apologize.
